With odds of 6/4, Will Still is presently the frontrunner to take over as Sunderland’s permanent manager, according to gambling.com. In a recent conversation, Still stated that he would like to manage in England and that he would be willing to accept a Championship position at a forward-thinking team.

According to The Manchester Evening News, Keane, who hasn’t led a side since 2011, is 2/1 to take over as Sunderland’s manager again. He said at the time: “The Roy Keane potential with Sunderland played out much more in the media than it really did in conversations that we had in the club.” Co-owner of Sunderland Juan Sartori stated that although Keane would have been a delightful addition to the team’s Netflix series, he wasn’t the appropriate fit for the position. He said: “I think Roy Keane would have been fun, definitely good for the [Sunderland ‘Til I Die] Netflix series, but maybe we had a third season of disastrous finishing.”

With odds of 5/2, Scott Parker is the favourite to become Sunderland’s next manager. He’s had success in the past with Bournemouth and Fulham. Steve Cooper is also in the race, at odds of 4/1. In just one season, he helped Nottingham Forest go from almost being relegated to the lower leagues to the Premier League.

After two losses while in control, Dodds’ odds changed from 12/1 to 25/1, which represents a decrease in his prospects. Despite appearing content in his TV role, 52-year-old Keane has expressed interest in returning to management. He stated: “We were talking about going back into management, I think the longer you are out of it, the more you think well, the last few chats we’ve had about going back to it, even before Frank [Lampard] came in as a guest I am swaying towards not going back into management.”

Keane expressed his frustration with the lack of respect he receives from others, saying, “I just think it’s not worth the hassle and people disrespect you constantly.” I’m not talking about Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola here, but when you get to a certain point and start talking to people about returning to management, people assume you’re so desperate that you’ll sign anything.”
