Rangers may compel Rodgers to leave Celtic as Peter Martin calls him a “laughing stock.”

Peter Martin believes that if Rangers win the Scottish Premiership this season, Brendan Rodgers will probably be fired as Celtic’s manager.

Rangers

Rangers have bounced back from a dismal start to the season under Michael Beale’s replacement, Philippe Clement, but they are still eight points behind leaders Celtic.

But the Gers still have a game to play before they head to Celtic Park in a month, where they have the opportunity to get even closer to the top spot.

Presenter Martin said, “If they win the league, which they will barring a mass collapse that allows Rangers to win it, that would cost the manager his head, and possibly some of the board,” on PLZ Soccer’s The Journos show on 30 November.

Martin continued, “I think you could spend some amount of money to just give them a chance to win some games, to go away or home and celebrate, to make Celtic Park a fortress, because Celtic Park is a laughing stock right now.” He was speaking about Celtic’s embarrassing Champions League exit this week.

Even after last weekend’s lacklustre 1-1 draw at Aberdeen, Rangers have demonstrated title-winning ability under Clement.

Under the Belgian, the Gers have accumulated 13 points out of a possible 15, while Celtic have accumulated 11 points from 15 in the same time frame.

Rangers can achieve anything if the season proceeds as planned, especially considering the upcoming Old Firm match.

For Celtic, who are already completely out of Europe before Christmas and did not win the Viaplay Cup, that would be truly disastrous.

Rangers would be extremely proud of themselves for having forced Rodgers to leave the team, but the league still has a lot of mountains to climb.

For now, all the Light Blues can do is concentrate on their own performance and watch for more mistakes to be made throughout Glasgow.
