Celtic transfer roundup as Nicolas Kuhn does it

Celtic have a large squad and may need to trim it down but arrivals are expected

If Celtic wants to maintain their lead in the Scottish Premiership, supporters will be expecting some transfer action, and things are beginning to move in that direction.

Several of the club’s summer acquisitions haven’t quite worked out; aside from the loan signings of Paulo Bernardo and Luis Palma, not many of the other transfers have been as successful. Marco Tilio, Odin Thiago Holm, Yang Hyun-jun and Maik Nawrocki haven’t quite struck the ground running as their first-team competition continues to come strong, whilst Kwon has been loaned to St Mirren and Nat Phillips has been moved back to Liverpool.

As the team looks to complete a domestic double, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping there aren’t any busts this time. Football Scotland walks you through the possible arrivals and departures for the Hoops in the upcoming weeks. With the sales of Jota and Carl Starfelt in the summer, there will be money in January.
Winger Nicolas Kuhn of Rapid Vienna is getting close to signing a £2.8 million contract to join Parkhead, as we reported on Friday. With Daizen Maeda sidelined for Japan’s Asia Cup and players like Marco Tilio failing to impress the club, Brendan Rodgers has been pursuing the winger. After Celtic’s initial bid for the player was turned down, a fee was almost reached with the Austrian powerhouse.

Nicolas Kuhn is close to his Celtic move

A transfer is imminent, and Vienna is already searching for a successor for him, having joined from Bayern Munich’s reserve squad eighteen months ago. It’s said that Kuhn is delighted to work under Brendan Rodgers given the gaffer’s triumphs not only in the Scottish Premiership, but in the Premier League and Europe with Leicester and Liverpool. Next week, Rapid will hold a training camp; however, Kuhn will not be attending as he is nearing a relocation to the east end of Glasgow.

In other news, Serie A club Lecce is reportedly interested in signing Gustaf Lagerbielke, and sources from Italy indicate that he may be leaving the team soon. The Swede has only made eight appearances for Celtic in recent weeks, and there isn’t much evidence to suggest he will get the playing time he desires in the future with Maik Nawrocki, Liam Scales, and Cameron Carter-Vickers all ahead of him in Rodgers’ pecking order.
Lecce would be open to a loan agreement for his services, but Genoa has expressed interest in a possible trade. Given that the northern Italian team sold Radu Dragusin to Tottenham earlier in the transfer window, they will definitely have the funds to get him.
A chance to sign Sydney van Hooijdonk, however, appears to be going unnoticed as Bologna coach Thiago Motta creates space for the striker to have an effect.
“We’ll see if he starts tomorrow,” he stated, adding that there was no message for him. He needs to keep supporting the squad by working as hard as he has been doing lately. To give it our all, we must travel to Cagliari.”Even though his favorable traits are very different from Zirkzee’s, we still need to capitalize on them. Together, we’ll make sure he’s in a position to give a fantastic performance if he plays tomorrow.”
