Stefan Borson drops stunning ‘£190m’ Tottenham transfer claim
Tottenham have hundreds of millions of profit and sustainability (PSR) capacity as they look to agree new signings before Monday’s transfer deadline.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider Spurs likely had around £190million of headroom last season.
Deloitte’s 2025 Money League revealed Tottenham’s overall revenue fell from £550million in 2022-23 to £528million last season.
But their commercial income increased from £228million to £255million as they continue to cash in on opportunities at their new stadium
Spurs’ wage bill fell from £251million to £222million last season, meaning just 42 per cent of their revenue is taken up by their salary expenditure.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have signed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky for £12.5million from Slavia Prague and centre-back Kevin Danso on loan from Lens, with a £21million obligation-to-buy clause included in the deal.
Tottenham are not restricted by PSR issues
Borson insisted there are no PSR issues restricting Spurs from making more signings.
They have got loads of capacity,” Borson told Football Insider.
“I have had a few discussions about it this week.
“We now know their numbers for 2023-24, so we can now broadly model it out for the season just gone in terms of the assessment that was just made.
“I reckon they had something like £190million headroom.
“You have the £105million allowance, but they were in profit of £85million, so they had loads of capacity.
“That capacity that we are talking about, if you look at the way the maths work, they could spend 4.25 times that amount and still not breach because of the way the amortisation and the wages work.
“They have got hundreds of millions of capacity, so that’s not an issue.”
Tzimas has scored ten goals and provided two assists in 17 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga so far this season, attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe.
