Nicolas Raskin on main man Rangers player they all ‘learn a lot from’ behind the scenes
Rangers return to domestic action looking to maintain momentum against Ross County.
Philippe Clement has seen recent form improve and a run of games at Ibrox is exactly what the manager would want.
One player who has been key is Nicolas Raskin with the Rangers midfielder explaining what teammate is the main man behind the scenes.
Nicolas Raskin praises Rangers main man
Speaking after the 2-1 win over Union Saint Gilloise, Raskin was quick to praise James Tavernier and his contribution playing in an unfamiliar centre-half role.
The skipper was Rangers News’ man of the match against the Belgians, not that Clement’s engine room enforcer was surprised:
“We all learn a lot from James and today’s been amazing. One assist, some great saves. He’s a top player, to be fair,” hailed Raskin via The Rangers Review.
“We as a team never had doubts [about his quality], because we see what he shows us and what he’s doing on the training ground. Sometimes football has a very small… How do you say that? [People] forget very quickly, but Tav is a hall of famer for the club, so that means something.
“You can’t disappear in one game, you know, or in one bad spell. Tav is the real leader, and like I said, we all learn a lot from him. It’s just amazing to have him here to help us grow.”
Could Tavernier extend his career in new position?
Tavernier said he was happy to help out in his new role in the Europa League given the players who are missing.
The 33-year old might have said that he could extend his career playing the middle, however, as the captain said in his own words, there are plenty of miles left in the tank yet.
