Picture proof as Leicester City close in on first summer signing

Abdul Fatawu’s agent has posted a picture of the Ghanaian winger at the King Power Stadium ahead of his permanent transfer to Leicester City.

The 20-year-old’s £14m switch from Sporting Lisbon has long been on the cards. It only needs confirmation from City, and with Fatawu back in town, an announcement could be made before the first-team squad return to pre-season training on Monday.

On Wednesday night, Pintex Sports, the agency Fatawu is signed to, posted a picture to Instagram of the Ghanaian and his representative Peter Ejiasu on the pitch at the King Power Stadium. It offered yet more certainty to one of the club’s worst-kept secrets.

Fatawu’s move was confirmed by Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim back in May. Since then, the winger has been doing his utmost to announce his arrival himself.

Speaking to media in his native Ghana last week, he said he would be playing for City when the new Premier League season begins. A couple of weeks prior, on social media, he posted a series of photos from last season with the caption: “Miss these moments with the lads. Can’t wait to be back soon.”
