Writing in his Daily Briefing on Wednesday (July 3), Romano confirmed that Kudus’ release clause for this summer expired on 30 June.

On top of that, despite the clause not being active until the end of the 2024-25 season, the East London club could negotiate new terms to eliminate it altogether [The Athletic].

For now, the Hammers are said to be “optimistic” about keeping Kudus at London Stadium for the long term.

Mohammed Kudus staying at West Ham United a big relief
The news that Kudus is now almost certain to stay at West Ham this summer has come as a massive relief to fans.

With his £85million release clause expiring without activation, the Hammers now have the power to reject any potential bids for the Ghanaian star.

Kudus made a significant impact in his debut season and is set to remain at the club, providing much-needed stability and hope for supporters.

This decision not only retains the Hammers’ strong attacking options but also shows the club’s determination to build a competitive team.

While top clubs like Liverpool might have benefited from his talent, keeping Kudus allows the Hammers to continue their growth and potentially secure a substantial transfer fee in the future.

For now, fans can rest easy knowing one of their key players will be staying put.
