Hamza Igamane granted visa, Rangers transfer to be official in hours

Rangers are set to confirm the transfer of Hamza Igamane in hours after he was granted a visa, according to FootMercato.

Writing on their website (2 July), the French news outlet report that there is a full agreement between the Light Blues and FAR Rabat over a deal for the 21-year-old forward.

Rangers are set to pay £1.7million plus bonuses to seal the transfer, with Igamane expected to pen a five-year deal at Ibrox [beIN Sports, 22 June].

Rangers seal new attacker transfer with Hamza Igamane

This transfer has been a long time coming after Rangers had a bid accepted back on June 16th [KoraMaroc], but it’s finally a done deal.

Philippe Clement has been keen to strengthen his attacking options after allowing Fabio Silva’s loan to end, while Abdallah Sima may not return from Brighton and Kemar Roofe was allowed to leave when his contract expired too.

Sam Lammers is also expected to leave permanently, while Ianis Hagi and Todd Cantwell have been tipped for an exit which means the attacking areas of the squad need strengthening.

Igamane is a bit of an unknown quantity having come from the Moroccan league, but his skillset is something that suits the way the boss wants to play and it’s a relatively cheap deal too.

It’s a gamble, for sure, but it’s one worth taking for Gers and if he is able to reach his potential then it won’t take long to look like a bargain transfer.
