Daizen Maeda’s Q&A as Celtic star scheduled for visit to former club ...

The Japanese international is taking a well-earned after helping guide Celtic to another Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup win in May.

And now, after taking part in the 5-0 World Cup qualifier win over Myanmar with Japan last month, Maeda is now putting his feet up to rest and recharge his batteries before the new season kicks off this summer.

Well, almost.

The Japanese winger still has strong bonds back in Japan as we discussed earlier in the summer how he paid a visit to Mito HollyHock and how he also inspires up-and-coming sports stars in different sporting disciplines.

However, remaining true to his soccer roots, the Celtic winger held a soccer clinic for young children at his old club, Matsumoto Yamaga FC as he posted on social media channel X thanking his former club for the opportunity.

The event was held as part of Matsumoto Yamaga’s 50th Anniversary celebrations and was a huge success because, despite the heavy rain, almost 100 children participated and took part. [Matsumoto Yamaga FC]

Maeda also took time at the event to sign tops where an autograph session allowed the Celtic winger to give each child their own special piece of personalised memorabilia from the day.

The Japan international winger began his professional career at Yamaga back in 2016 where he helped take them from the J2 League into the top flight in 2018.

In 57 appearances for Yamaga, Maeda scored 10 goals and clearly from his three years at the club, he is still held in high regard and remains very popular after receiving such a huge turnout for such a brilliant event.
