West Brom and Birmingham City lock horns to sign fantastic Championship attacker
|West Bromwich Albion are expected to challenge Birmingham City to sign a Sheffield Wednesday star this week.
West Brom are interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday attacking midfielder Josh Windass on a free transfer, Birmingham World understands.
The 30-year-old winger looked set to sign a new contract at Hillsborough but he’s now expected to depart following a stall in talks. Windass’ current deal expires on June 30 and there are a whole host of Championship clubs seeking his signature.
It’s understood West Brom are keen and have made contact with the player’s representatives to gauge his level of interest in a move. The Baggies hope Windass can solve an issue as they are on the hunt for a new attacking-minded midfielder who can also play on the left.
