West Ham Exclusive: Big Max Kilman update today

After turning down an offer from West Ham, Wolves is seeking £45 million for Max Kilman, including add-ons, sources have told Football Insider.

In an attempt to capture his former center-back for his new team, Julen Lopetegui made an initial offer worth a total of £25 million to the London club.

If Kilman puts in a lot of effort to leave this summer, the London team thinks they can negotiate a fee that is lower than what Wolves are asking.

However, sources claim that at this point, a deal is not close for the 27-year-old as Gary O’Neil’s team looks to cling onto their captain for the upcoming campaign.

Kilman only signed a new five-year contract in August of last year, so his tenure at Molineux is set until 2028.

Despite PSR fears, Wolves are trying to hang onto Max Kilman. As Football Insider first reported last month, Kilman was a priority summer transfer target for West Ham, following the announcement of Lopetegui as the new manager.

Following the club’s fourth-worst Premier League goal total of 74 goals conceded under David Moyes last season, the Spanish manager is searching for additional defensive additions.

Kilman was elected captain last summer and played in every Wolves Premier League game. He also made 44 appearances across all competitions during the campaign.

The center-back is one of four elite players the West Midlands club may have to cash in on this summer due to their financial circumstances, as Football Insider disclosed last month.

The London-born defender was rejected by West Ham after their opening offer was £20 million less than what Wolves were asking for.

Kilman signed a £40,000 contract to join Wolves in 2018, however reports say that National League team Maidenhead United has a sell-on clause worth 15% to 20% of the player’s purchase price.
