Rangers in pole position to sign a ‘Very Important’ goal machine – report

Rangers are still after a move for Albion Rrahmani and are in pole position to sign him this summer, according to Football Scotland.

The outlet reported on their website on 17 June that a Romanian source had indicated the Light Blues were best placed to sign the striker, as Philippe Clement seeks to strengthen at Ibrox during the transfer window.

There is a need to add a high-quality new option up front with Danilo coming off a serious injury, Sam Lammers expected to be sold, and Cyriel Dessers inconsistent for all he showed some impressive signs in scoring 22 last term.

Rangers ready to spend big on Cyriel Dessers upgrade?
After a debut season for Neil Lennon’s new club in which Rrahmani scored 17 goals in just 26 appearances he has seemingly impressed the Ibrox hierarchy.

According to Digi Sport on 6 June Rangers are willing to offer as much as €6million [£5.7m] for the 23-year-old Rahmani, which would be a ten-fold increase on what he cost a year ago.

It has been speculated that the Light Blues might be making a run at Lawrence Shankland from Hearts if they were spending that sort of money on a striker, but Clement and Nils Koppen are largely looking beyond the UK for their targets.
