Celtic Linked To Another Euro 2024 Goalkeeper as joe hart replacement

Celtic remains on the hunt to replace Joe Hart following his emotional retirement at the end of last season.

The Englishman ended his playing days on the most almighty of highs, winning a double with the Bhoys to crown a stellar career.

Finding a successor for Hart will not be easy, but a few names have been linked to the Hoops so far. The likes of Peter Vindahl Jensen and Martin Dubravka have recently been mentioned in the Bhoys’ hunt for a new stopper, Yvon Mvogo the latest.

Currently at Euro 2024 as Switzerland’s third-choice ‘keeper, French outlet Le Telegramme links the 30-year-old with a summer move to Glasgow.

Standing at 6’2, Mvogo just completed the season as FC Lorient’s number one. His side was eventually relegated to Ligue 2 as he made 34 appearances in all competitions.

Still at a good age for a goalkeeper, Mvogo has been around the block in Europe. He initially came through at Young Boys before moving on to RB Leipzig, PSV Eindhoven, and now Lorient.

He played against Celtic at Parkhead in the 2018/19 Europe League, but his Leipzig team lost 2-1 on the night.

Having made over 120 appearances in the Swiss top flight and 101 combined in Ligue 1, the Eredivisie, and the Bundesliga, Mvogo has experience at a top level.

Adept with his feet, Mvogo currently has one year left on his deal at Lorient. His Transfermarkt value sits at just £2.5m and with his team having just been relegated, it could be the ideal time for Celtic to do business.

Let’s wait and see if this link has any substance over the next few days and weeks.
