Reports earlier this week claimed that talks between the two parties ‘could be delayed’ as Idah’s parent club Norwich City are keen to evaluate him during pre-season. However, the new update claims that the 23-year-old is now ‘very keen’ to join Celtic on a permanent basis, having enjoyed his short stint under Brendan Rodgers already. Idah is under contract with the English side until 2028 and is valued by Transfermarkt at €3.5 million (£2.9m).

Speaking about his time at Celtic, Idah admitted that his loan spell ‘changed a lot of things’ in his perspective and he is now ‘hungry for more’ after winning both the Premiership and the Scottish Cup.

Ex-Rangers man refuses new deal
Former Rangers ace Josh Windass is set to be on the market as a free agent this summer after he has ‘rejected a final offer’ of a new contract from Sheffield Wednesday. That’s according to Football Insider, who report that both Coventry City and Hull City are keeping tabs on the midfielder, who will leave Hillsborough for free at the end of the month.

The Owls had a troublesome season in the EFL Championship last season, scraping survival by just three points after finishing 20th in the table. Windass, who boasts impressive versatility by playing as an attacking midfielder, winger and even centre-forward, made 25 appearances and contributed six goals and two assists.

The 30-year-old has spent the last four years with Sheffield Wednesday but is now looking for his next move as he enters his final weeks at the club. Windass joined the Owls in 2020 from Wigan, the club who snapped him up from Rangers for an undisclosed fee two years prior. He made 73 appearances for the Light Blues and notched 19 goals and 13 assists in that time.

Wednesday have been trying to tie Windass down to a new deal for at least an extra season, but he has snubbed their latest and final attempt and will be moving on once the transfer window opens.
