West Ham United pay tax bill as Luis Guilherme transfer update emerges

West Ham United will pay all the taxes involved in a deal to sign Luis Guilherme from Palmerias this summer, according to UOL Band.

The Brazilian outlet has reported (12 June) that the Hammers will pay a fixed sum of £19.4million for the versatile forward.

There are plenty of bonuses in the 18-year-old’s contract which could see £5.9m paid for his goalscoring, while Tim Steidten has agreed the Hammers will pay all taxes.

Palmeiras will also be entitled to 20 per cent of any profits that West Ham receive for any potential sale of Guilherme in the future.

West Ham United step closer to Luis Guilherme deal

The Hammers have had many irons in the fire ahead of the summer transfer window opening but now it seems like they may have landed their first deal.

Steidten has been working in Brazil in an attempt to sign players from South America to add to Julen Lopetegui’s squad ahead of next season.

The Spaniard is coming in and will want to put his own imprint on the squad after David Moyes’ long stint at London Stadium.

With that being said, Fabricio Bruno has already rejected the Hammers and it appeared that a move for Guilherme had fallen away.

Now it looks like this has changed and a move is on the cards with a deal agreed and the finer details being sorted.

West Ham are getting an 18-year-old who has never played outside of Brazil and will take plenty of time to settle in and have an impact on the squad.

It is an interesting signing by Steidten, who is getting his ideas across and having an effect on the club post-Moyes.
