Rangers transfer news as Liam Kelly medical verdict emerges post Motherwell exit

Liam Kelly is likely to pass his Rangers medical if needed as he sealed an exit from Motherwell, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has waxed lyrical over the 28-year-old’s fitness record over the course of the 2023/24 season.

The Scotland international did not miss a single game for Motherwell due to injury and the Scottish Sun reported on 3 June that he’s set to be the next one through the door at Ibrox this summer.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“He played the entire season without any injury issues and the full 90 minutes of games as well.

“That’s as perfect a fitness record as one would want from a goalkeeper at the age of 28.

“As he enters his prime years, there should be no reason why he fails his medical at Rangers or any other club he joins this summer.

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell is a huge fan of the goalkeeper and has labelled him “unbelievable”, via Sky Sports Scotland.

As a product of the Gers’ youth system and a former first-team player, Kelly has a deep understanding of the club’s traditions and expectations, which can foster a strong team spirit.

His experience and leadership qualities, honed during his time at Motherwell, could provide priceless competition for the number one spot, pushing Jack Butland to improve and this could only benefit the rest of the team as well.

In other Rangers news, weeks of negotiations are now on the cards at Ibrox with Gers aiming to strike a multi-million transfer deal to sign an international attacker.
