Celtic transfer news bulletin as Odsonne Edouard price tag ‘set’ by Crystal Palace while Kenan Piric leaves door open

It’s set to be a busy summer for Brendan Rodgers as he looks to revamp the Parkhead squad.

Crystal Palace are reportedly willing to sell Odsonne Edouard – but Celtic may have to stump up a mega-money offer if they are to bring him back to the club this summer.

Brendan Rodgers is preparing the Scottish Premiership champions for the Champions League group stage next season as he looks to make his mark on Europe – and social media swirls have exploded in recent hours that the Frenchman could be reuniting with his old boss by making his return to Celtic Park from the English Premier League. The 26-year-old was on the fringes of the Palace squad last term – being used sparingly following the arrival of Oliver Glasner in the dugout and netting just eight goals last term.

The boss appears to have made his decision on Edouard and the club will reportedly attempt to move him on from Selhurst Park this summer. However, that is set to come with a big financial outlay for any potential suitor.

The South London Press state the Eagles value the striker “at around £20million” having spent £14million to take him from Celtic Park in 2021. Edouard is out of in the summer at the end of next season and Palace want to use the sale to “supplement” Glasner’s summer rebuild.

It would be a surprise to see Celtic hit that price tag in this window – but former Parkhead star Andy Walker has predicted a “signature statement” from the club this summer. He reckons Rodgers will be calling for the club to flex their “financial muscle” to send a message to Rangers going into next season.
