Good News:Celtic nearing Paulo Bernardo transfer, according to report

Paulo Bernardo, a permanent signing from Benfica, is getting closer to joining Celtic. The 22-year-old, who played on loan for Brendan Rodgers last season, is eager to commit to the Scottish Champions for the long run.

The midfielder made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring four times and assisting on three occasions. Despite not having the prolific numbers of colleague O’Riley, there were flashes throughout the season of what Bernardo can become under the tutelage of Brendan.

Rodgers will be hoping that he can bring both Bernardo and another loan star back to Paradise. Adam Idah benefited from Bernardo’s shot that Butland couldn’t hold to help Celtic complete the Double. The Irishman is under contract at Norwich and there’s no option to buy so a negotiation will need to take place.
