Axed Rebels set to face Fijian Drua in a Historic match ahead of Super finals
|The Melbourne Rebels are set to face the Fijian Drua in what will be a historic match for them. Despite the recent announcement that the Rebels will be disbanded at the end of the season, they are determined to secure their first victory in Fiji before heading into their first finals campaign.
The Rebels are currently seventh on the ladder and could move up to sixth if they win against the Drua and the Highlanders lose to the Hurricanes.
No Australian team has won on Fijian soil before, and the Drua have a strong home record, winning eight of their last nine Super home matches. The Rebels’ general manager, Nick Stiles, emphasized the need for the team to play to their strengths and not get caught up in trying to match the Drua’s free-flowing style.
The match is set for Saturday in Lautoka, and it’s a significant one for the Rebels as they look to end their 14-year run on a high note
