Apologetic Celtic fans want man they booed the life out of to present stars with Premiership trophy

Poor Old Saint Nick was in the firing line at Parkhead last year but fans want an olive branch extended on trophy day.

Celtic fans are calling on the club to invite the SANTA who was booed at Parkhead to return and present the team with the Scottish Premiership trophy on the final day.

Supporters were so sickened with what they witnessed from their team during home defeat to Hearts that they took it out on Father Christmas who failed to bring any festive cheer during a half-time appearance.

Old Saint Nick wasn’t so jolly with photos showing him looking down on that day after he was jeered by disgruntled punters. Rivals Rangers even used the incident to mock their rivals when they invited their own Santa to parade the Viaplay Cup at Ibrox during a midweek win over St Johnstone just days after the Hoops lost to Hearts.
Goalkeeper Joe Hart even referenced the incident when Celtic got revenge with a recent win over the Jambos. The Englishman chuckled: “Obviously I didn’t want Santa getting booed that day. But we got booed and damn right. We didn’t perform well that day and Hearts put us to bed.”

But all has been forgiven with Brendan Rodgers turning things around in the Scottish Premiership since that day and Celtic are on the brink of making it three in a row in the league following a 2-1 derby win over the Light Blues at Parkhead on Saturday.

And fans have taken to social media with an idea for trophy day. One said: “Now everything has settled, it’s time for Celtic to hold out the olive branch, and ask Santa if he’ll do the honours on trophy day.” Celtic fan media account CeltsAreHere joked: “EXCLUSIVE! Celtic are in talks with the North Pole to have Santa Claus present the trophy.” Another said: “Let’s get this trending #bringbacksanta.”
