David Edgar calls for Rangers star to ‘Never play for us again’ after Celtic loss

David Edgar has called for John Lundstram to never play for Rangers again after his red card and own goal in the 2-1 defeat to Celtic.

David Edgar demands John Lundstram never plays for Rangers again after 2-1 defeat v Celtic

The 30-year-old midfielder lost Matt O’Riley for the opening goal, failed to sort his feet out for the own goal just two minutes later and then was sent off before half-time for a horror tackle on Alistair Johnston in a horrific showing.

And reacting after the full-time whistle on his personal X account (11 May), Edgar of Heart and Hand shared his verdict and admitted he doesn’t want to see the Englishman play for the club ever again.

“The same game as last time there,” he said. “Give them a two goal start, go down to 10 men and make it impossible.

“Lundstram should never play for us again.

“We need to bring in some pace in [the] summer, we have too many immobile players.”

John Lundstram has to leave Rangers after horror show
There has been a lot of talk about the future of Lundstram at Ibrox in the build-up to this game, with Philippe Clement admitting that contract talks have been postponed.

The Rangers board reportedly want to keep the former Sheffield United man for next season and beyond, but the player has agreed a pre-contract to join up with Borna Barisic in Turkey with Trabzonspor.

While his performances for the majority of the campaign have been good, they’ve not been good enough to help the team get to where they want to be.

If this team and the board are serious about going up a level and really progressing next season then Lundstram simply can’t be at the club, playing regularly next season.

He’s shown he’s not good enough to help take the team where they want to be, and the club have the perfect chance to move him on now.
