Sunderland have emerged as frontrunners ahead of Everton and West Brom for Premier League Star

Sunderland have emerged as frontrunners ahead of Everton and West Brom for West Ham striker Divin Mubama, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The media outlet added context on 3 May to the Athletic report from the same day addressing the future of the 19-year-old.

The English striker has received limited game time this season under David Moyes and has thus opted against signing an extension at the London Stadium.

Divin Mubama, a striker for West Ham that Everton signed, did not play.
Everton’s already overloaded offensive options made their pursuit of Mubama seem doomed.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Beto, Youssef Chermiti, and Lewis Dobbin among their ranks, Mubama would probably experience the same problems with game time at Goodison Park as he had at West Ham.

It appears that Everton’s attack has greater depth than West Ham’s, which would make it much harder for Mubama to crack the starting lineup.

Given the current situation, it would be more beneficial for Mubama to consider Sunderland, who have emerged as frontrunners for his signature.

At Sunderland, the teenager would have a better chance of securing regular playing time, which is crucial for his development at this stage of his career.

Furthermore, the step down to the Championship could provide Mubama with the opportunity to gain valuable experience and potentially return to the Premier League in the future.
