What Brendan Rodgers told the Celtic dressing room after Dens Park victory

There are now just four league matches remaining this season and the Bhoys are on course to defend their title for a three-in-a-row triumph.

With a fierce volley in the first and a beautiful drive through goalkeeper Jon McCracken’s legs in the second, James Forrest turned back the clock and stunned the Dees.

Forrest is the player of the moment, and it was fantastic to see someone with his level of accomplishments come through for us when we most needed it.

Brendan Rodgers, the manager, made sure the Celtic locker room knew after the game how valuable the winger is to the team.

“Two fantastic finishes,” the Bhoys manager said on BBC Radio Scotland. After the game, I told the players that his contributions both on and off the field had contributed to this club’s tremendous success over the past ten years.

“He truly represents that achievement.” Extremely modest, extremely subtle, and exceptionally high-quality. That was evident in both of his finishes. The first one was simply outstanding, and in the second, he gave the impression that it was simpler than it actually was.

“Anytime he gets the ball, he can make a pass, come inside, beat a man, and keep the ball.” I am very happy for him because he was just wonderful.

“I think he can go on. You see him stretching a lot and because of his position there is a lot of high-intensity work. It can catch up with you. But he’s making the impact we need from him. And he’s done that today and scored two great goals and won us the game.”

Forrest is under Rodgers’ fire.
Similar to his first tenure as Celtic manager, Rodgers has been able to bring out the best in Forrest, understanding what drives the winger for the team.

Although he isn’t the ideal player, Premiership defenses find it difficult to contain him when he plays with intensity, directness, and a constant desire to pose a threat to opponents.

He may have been at the club for what feels like forever but he can undoubtedly still play an important role in the remaining games of the season. If he fires Celtic to even more success, his legendary status is only going to be enhanced.
