Ibrox View: Good news for Rangers as Sky Sports show footage from Celtic training ground – Ibrox News

Daizen Maeda’s absence from Celtic training has helped Rangers; in video supplied by Sky Sports, the Japanese forward is nowhere to be seen.

On April 28, Celtic takes on Dundee, but it looks that Maeda will be out due to injury.

Rangers will hope Maeda stays away until after their match, which takes place at Parkhead on May 11, the last Scottish Premiership Old Firm rivalry of the season.

With the description, “No Daizen Maeda as Celtic train ahead of Sunday’s game against Dundee,” Sky Sports made public video of Celtic’s training session prior to their trip to Dens Park on X.

Rangers’ relief while Celtics’ Daizen Maeda is still AWOL

Rangers fans, especially James Tavernier, the captain of the Gers, will be relieved if Maeda stays out of the game until the Old Firm derby at Parkhead. Tavernier struggled against the forward in the teams’ most recent meeting at Ibrox on April 7.

The 26-year-old scored in the opening minute of that encounter, which finished 3-3. The Gers had to rally from behind twice to steal a thrilling point, with Rabbi Matondo scoring an equalizer in the 93rd minute.

Maeda hasn’t played for Celtic since that match, though, due to an injury, so Brendan Rodgers’ team has to play Aberdeen in the Scottish FA Cup semifinals and St. Mirren in the league without him.

The Japan international has scored nine goals and provided three assists in all competitions this season; Celtic will miss his output while he is sidelined.
