News Report: Manager expected to make West Ham admission in press conference on Saturday

Ruben Amorim is expected to apologise for meeting West Ham United representatives in a move done to put pressure on Liverpool, according to CNN Mais Futebol.

The Sporting Lisbon boss was seen returning from the UK and claimed he would address any questions in his press conference this Saturday (27 April)

As shared by MaisFutebol, Bruno Andrade claimed that the Portuguese manager will “admit he made a mistake” after his journey.

The journalist suggested that the trip was done with the intent of putting more pressure on Liverpool whom Amorim has also been linked.

Andrade now believes that the “tactic ended up backfiring” as he is no longer the number one choice to replace Jurgen Klopp.

Should West Ham go ahead and pursue Ruben Amorim?

It was news that came out of the blue for Hammers fans that they were linked to the highly-rated Sporting boss.

Amorim had been linked to a Premier League move with Liverpool, set to be tasked with taking the role on at Anfield.

He could prove to be a superb appointment for West Ham as they look for a progressive appointment if David Moyes departs.
This season he has carried his Sporting side to top of the Liga Portugal as they sit on 80 points, seven above rivals Benfica.

His side have scored 87 goals and have only conceded 27, according to FotMob, which gives them the best goal difference in the division.

Amorim has made the most out of cheaper transfer finds which may prove invaluable in the Premier League.

This campaign he has gotten the most out of Viktor Gyokeres who was signed from Coventry City in the summer transfer window.

The Swedish international has racked up a mammoth 24 goals and 10 assists in the league across just 29 starts.

His tactical approach and eye for talent could make Amorim a top target for the Hammers.
