Celtic Make Appearance in Prestigious Champions League Table

Even though Celtic don’t have a great European history, they are listed in a coveted Champions League ranking with some very good teams.

The Hoops made strides in their 2022–2023 season on the continent, despite not making it past the Champions League group stage this campaign.

They defeated Feyenoord by two goals to one, thanks to a late header from Gustaf Lagerbielke, to treble their point total and earn their first home victory in Europe’s top club competition in almost ten years.

Getting three points that evening helps the Bhoys rank 20th in the history of the Champions League:

It is even more remarkable that they are in the Champions League given that only two teams (Man City and PSG) have played less games than Celtic.

The Celtics will want to increase their point total even further the following season if they win the championship.

The Parkhead team will play two more games than in past years and face eight different opponents in the first round of the Champions League, which will give them a much better opportunity of improving their European record if they qualify.

But first and foremost, the focus should be on securing the title and domestic issues. Brendan Rodgers has his team up three points with five games remaining, but as the season comes to a dramatic conclusion, complacency cannot set in.
