Sunderland fans get first glimpse of new hummel gear at West Brom as iconic tracksuit revived

At The Hawthorns, Hummel’s new throwback Sunderland collection had its first piece unveiled.

Sunderland supporters saw the team’s new uniforms for the first time on Saturday afternoon at The Hawthorns.

The Black Cats announced in July of this year that renowned supplier Hummel will become their new kit partner. The two parties have reportedly agreed to a multi-million pound arrangement, with an initial five-year agreement.

The first items from the soon-to-be-unveiled vintage line were on display at The Hawthorns, with Sunderland’s first team wearing the new tracksuit in the lead-up to the match. The new season’s uniforms have not yet been announced. The design pays homage to the Wembley pre-match jerseys worn by the FA Cup winners in 1992. When the kits are released, it’s also anticipated that they would pay homage to Hummel’s kits from their time as Sunderland’s kit supplier.

Next week, other items from the line are anticipated to be revealed in collaboration with Vaux, the Sunderland microbrewery that has brought back the city’s renowned brand.
