Rangers finally break the silence over troubling Ibrox scenes

Rangers has not yet released a formal statement about the event, despite disturbing scenes at Ibrox during the Glasgow Derby where coins and a glass bottle were thrown at Celtic players and staff.

Matt O'Riley Celtic Penalty

The club has remained noticeably silent, particularly in the wake of several public denunciations from Celtic, who described the acts as “totally unacceptable.”

Following his team’s 2-0 victory thanks to a penalty kick, Matt O’Riley of Celtics was the subject of a glass bottle attack.

Coins were also thrown towards the away dugout.

These occurrences are a part of a concerning pattern of home fans at Ibrox hurling missiles at games, which has damaged the atmosphere of the game and sparked concerns about safety at such important games.

Celtic Players
The Rangers manager acknowledged in his comments on the occurrences that such behaviour is not acceptable at Ibrox or anyplace else, but also acknowledged that he was not present when the actions occurred. He said, as reported by the Herald, “I didn’t see that, I heard that.” “Not at Ibrox, I don’t want objects thrown on the pitch. It is not a good thing because we have experienced it a couple times at other pitches against us. The club is therefore occupied trying to figure out who is doing it. We don’t want that in our club.

In spite of these admissions, Rangers has glaringly failed to issue an official statement. Celtic has addressed Rangers directly about their grave concerns, requesting a prompt response and guarantee that these kinds of instances will be handled with the gravity they deserve.
