‘Sneaky Suspicion’ – Journalist tips Rangers ace to be fit to start Old Firm clash v Celtic

Rangers Review’s Joshua Barrie has admitted that he has a “sneaky suspicion” Abdallah Sima will be fit to start for the Gers against Celtic in the Old Firm derby.

Philippe Clement’s side face Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops at Ibrox on Sunday (7 April) as they look to move back above their Glasgow rivals at the top of the Scottish Premiership and win their first derby of the season.

Brighton loanee Sima made his long-awaited return from injury off the bench against Hibernian last time out and Rangers Review journalist Barrie has admitted he thinks the forward may be ready to return to the starting XI.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (3 April, 25:30) he said: “I think he [Roofe] will be on the bench, I do have a sneaky suspicion that Sima might just be ready to start and Sterling will definitely start.

“But the biggest news that will come out of that press conference and rightly so because of his recent performances will be is Ridvan ready to play?”

Will Abdallah Sima be ready to start for Rangers in Old Firm clash with Celtic?
There wouldn’t have been a Rangers supporter inside Ibrox who wasn’t delighted to see Sima return to the field against Hibs as the Senegalese winger has been a total revelation since arriving in Glasgow on loan from Brighton.

While a number of Michael Beale’s summer signings have flattered to deceive in light blue, particularly in attack, Sima has offered a different dimension in possession that really impressed under Clement’s management.

Hopefully, Barrie is right and the forward will be fit and ready to start against Celtic as he would arguably be one of the first names on the teamsheet, especially on the left where he has been more effective than Fabio Silva.
