Ally McCoist grilled by Celtic diehard Alan Brazil over hate crime law storm

Smirking Ally McCoist has downplayed the uproar surrounding his remarks regarding the recently enacted hate crime act in Scotland following an exchange of questions with Alan Brazil.

Passed by MSPs back in 2021, the bill was given the green light on Monday with the intention of preventing abuse that “stirs up hatred” based on factors such as age, religion, sexual orientation, handicap, or sexual orientation. McCoist, though, expressed shock at the law’s introduction in Scotland and expressed concern that, when Rangers play Celtic this weekend, he and other Rangers supporters would be targeted by it.
McCoist tried to move on, laughing quickly, saying, “I’m over it. I think I may have irritated a few people. After joking that he might break the new act, McCoist disclosed he wouldn’t even be at the game, and the two proceeded to talk about the activity at the park later in the broadcast.

There isn’t much, in my opinion, separating the parties. A cigarette paper between them, in my opinion, doesn’t make either of them wonderful.”

“Will you be there?” Brazil urged. McCoist responded, “No, I’m not, in fact. I’ll be gone for a few days with the kids. I’m not even going to be at this game, despite people’s accusations that I’m going to break this act. We’re going to be away for a few days.

TalkSPORT remarks made by McCoist have sparked controversy, with SNP MP Steven Bonnar being one of the critics. Brazil also didn’t waste any time in bringing up the story on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show. With his remarks, the ardent Celtic fan once again brought his co-host under scrutiny, saying, “I see you have made some of the front pages…”
