Exclusive: West Ham told £60m bid will ‘likely be accepted’

West Ham will have to pay in excess of £60million to land Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Merseysiders feel the 22-year-old has doubled in value since he arrived from Lille in August 2022.

West Ham were favourites to land the Belgium international in 2022 but the move collapsed and he instead sealed a move to Everton.

The Irons are in the market for a new midfielder ahead of the off-season with loan signing Kalvin Phillips not set to see his move made permanent.

West Ham target Onana could cost £60m this summer, says transfer expert
Onana is under contract until June 2027 at Everton – who are embroiled in a relegation battle as the run-in approaches in the 2023-24 campaign.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, O’Rourke said: “Everton spent heavily to bring him to the club from Lille, it was a fee of more than £30million.

“West Ham and other sides are now going to be looking at at least £60million – possibly even more – that will likely be accepted.
