Hearts fans rage at ’embarrassing’ Rangers dressing room gesture

Hearts fans rage at ’embarrassing’ Rangers dressing room gesture but not everyone can see what the problem is

Some Hearts supporters are incensed at the Tynecastle dressing room’s apparent Rangers-themed makeover for the Sky Sports Cup final.

Rangers Women’s 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle on Sunday in Gorgie was the highlight of the match. The Glasgow teams traveled to the capital, and as a result, the home dressing room—which is typically occupied by Steven Naismith and his team—was awarded to the Gers.

The international break has put a stop to the men’s Premiership season. The Jambos won’t play again until they entertain Kilmarnock the following Saturday. However, a picture that is making the rounds of a changing room has generated a lot of discussion on social media. Some fans viewed the photo, which features the Hearts insignia covered in a smaller Rangers crest, as more sacrilege than ornamentation.

While some fans called it “absolutely embarrassing,” others emphasized how poorly thought out the temporary decorating seemed to have been. A punter let out, “That’s really bad. One person said, “At least cover the entire Hearts badge, ffs,” and another said, “They’re playing at a neutral venue; why should it look like the dressing room for the Rangers?” Completely useless, and the Rangers badge’s failure to conceal the Hearts one only serves to further diminish their already pitiful appearance.”

These days, social media is all about disputes, especially when Scottish football is involved. More supporters weighed in with counterarguments, defending the club and suggesting that it probably wasn’t even Hearts’ fault.

In response to an angry tweet, someone wrote: “Act appropriately. The usage of our stadium is funded by the tournament. Essentially, we give you the keys and instruct you to “leave it in good condition when you go.” We get paid, the locker rooms reopen, and regular operations continue. Develop into an adult.”
“I’d highly doubt Hearts would have had any input as a neutral venue for a cup final,” said a second sympathetic voice. In the end, to be honest, I could really care less about it.”
