Celtic star watches ‘slapstick drama’ unfold on bizarre national camp as he turns on the international jets

The Celtics star is getting more sleep after an unexpected international call-up.

Old Firm: Celtic without Daizen Maeda for Rangers match after Japan ...

Amidst discussions about the potential reasons behind the cancellation of Japan against North Korea, Celtics player Daizen Maeda states that speed is one of his main weapons.

In World Cup qualification on Thursday, the Hoops winger got the start as the Land of the Rising Sun defeated them 1-0. They were supposed to play North Korea again on Tuesday, but in an odd turn of events, the match has been cancelled for no apparent reason.

In response, the Japanese media site Sponichi has asked, “Forfeited? Rescheduled? The squad broke up after yet another absurd drama.” They went on to give the following explanations, meaning Maeda will be out for a week before Livingston vs. Celtic: “FIFA will decide how to handle the match, which may include seizing the event or scheduling it for another International A Match Day.

“There was confusion due to conflicting information on the match versus North Korea on the 26th, which was abruptly cancelled and not held in Pyongyang on the 21st. The team was supposed to depart Japan on the 22nd, but they lingered, found a hotel, and rehearsed in the nation in order to get ready for the postponed away game against North Korea.

“Some staff members stayed at a different hotel from the team, and they also incurred more expenses than expected, including cancellations of training grounds in Beijing and flight tickets.”

Speaking following the victory over Sponichi on Thursday, Maeda revealed that he enjoys using his speed as a weapon. The attacker for Celtic continued, saying, “It would be a waste not to utilise my speed.” Today, I was able to use it effectively.

“We knew it would be a challenging game, but things got rough in the second half when the opponents occasionally attacked. A victory is a victory. It was a crucial game that set up the next one. We held everyone, even the defenders, to zero. I believe it to be significant.
