Club director shares ‘best possible’ transfer news in Rangers update

Club director shares ‘best possible’ update after Jose Cifuentes loan

The Brazilian team Cruzeiro’s director of football, Pedro Martins, has revealed the club’s transfer intentions following the January loan arrival of Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes.

Despite their continuing financial difficulties, it was stated that the Brazilian club will evaluate the players based on their talent before determining what would be the “best possible” outcome for the team.
After a challenging half-season in Glasgow following the dismissal of Michael Beale and the appointment of Philippe Clement as manager, Cifuentes departed Ibrox on loan in pursuit of consistent playing time.

In an interview with Noataque [20 March], Martins stated: “With these loans, we hope to assess the athlete’s performance here. It also serves as a resource for individuals who lack the funds for a quick commitment.

“We would rather bring the player on loan to see if he can adjust to our routine and way of acting, given the club’s budgetary constraints. Then, when making this acquisition, we can sit down with the club and the player and build in the best possible way.”
Rangers: Club director shares 'best possible' update after Jose Cifuentes loan
After his loan stint, is Jose Cifuentes likely to return to Rangers?
It is now evident that Cruzeiro wants to find a method to keep Cifutentes and the other loanees in Brazil, where his playing style and background may be more suited.

Being a Rangers player and playing at Ibrox entails certain strain. It may be incredibly stressful for players to feel like they have to win every game in order to advance in a competition, especially if they are still relatively inexperienced like Cifuentes.

It’s ultimately something you can either deal with or you can’t, as journalist Richard Gordon put it when he called the pressure prior to the Viaplay Cup final.

Many of Michael Beale’s summer acquisitions had trouble adjusting to the intense environment and demands of Ibrox; some have begun to improve, but others may need more time.

Jose Cifuentes’ time with the Rangers is running out.
With a loan to Cruzeiro, Cifuentes will be able to put an end to the pressure and resume playing football. As he improves, he might come back to Ibrox, especially considering the apparent financial constraints at his loan club.
