Scotland’s Autumn Nations Series fixtures announced- Fiji to play Gregor Townsend’s men

Scotland’s Autumn Nations Series schedule for 2024 includes four Test matches at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in November.

Gregor Townsend’s team will play Fiji on Saturday, November 2, with a kickoff time of 5:40 p.m. Scotland defeated the Fijians 28–12 in their most recent meeting in 2022.

Scotland’s match against the reigning Rugby World Cup champions, South Africa, is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, at 4:10 p.m.

The All Blacks were defeated by the Springboks to win the Webb Ellis Cup last year, and they have now won the past two Rugby World Cups.

Portugal will subsequently make their first visit to Murrayfield on Saturday, November 16, since the hosts’ 56-10 triumph in the 2007 Rugby World Cup group stage.

Portugal performed admirably in the competition last year, outlasting Wales in the group stages and going on to upset Fiji 24-23 in the championship match.

The last Autumn Nations Series match will take place at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in 2022, when Australia defeated England 16–15.

“It’s a really exciting prospect to have four home games in succession during November,” remarked head coach Gregor Townsend. “The varied opposition will test us in different ways.”

“Playing a fast-paced, open style of rugby, Fiji and Portugal both did exceptionally well in the Rugby World Cup held in France. Although it will test our defence, these two rugby matches should be fantastic.

South Africa is one of our opponents, thus it will be a memorable event. The greatest test for any rugby club right now is to play the reigning world champions, so when that time comes, everyone will be anticipating it.

“We will end the month with a great matchup against Australia, a team we have fought out some thrilling and close matches with in the past few years.

“Our players find inspiration from home matchdays, as the Six Nations this year showed, and we are eager to play in front of our fans for four weeks in a row.”
