Philippe Clement left to sweat on ‘Absolutely Perfect’ Rangers star after international development

Philippe Clement left to sweat on Ridvan Yilmaz amid international development

Since the Belgian’s arrival at Ibrox in October, Philippe Clement has witnessed a marked improvement in the caliber of displays from Ridvan Yilmaz for Rangers.

It appeared that the Gers would replace the Turkish full-back with Fluminense’s Jefte, who was linked to a move to Galatasaray during the January transfer window, but neither transaction was completed before the window closed.
The supporters of Ibrox will now look back on that transfer window with delight, as Yilmaz continues to grow in Clement’s team, pushing Borna Barisic down the ladder and securing his starting position.

Why should Philippe Clement be concerned about Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz this month?
Some of Clement’s players are absent for the international break, with the Gers’ next Scottish Premiership match not happening until Saturday, March 30, against Hibernian.

Although players like Ross McCausland and Rabbi Matondo have already been called up to play for their countries, the Rangers manager’s biggest concern will be the recent reports surrounding Yilmaz.
Yilmaz is one of the players who will replace Cenzig Ünder and Ferdi Kadıoğlu due to injury, the national team of Turkey stated on Monday, March 18, via their official X account, despite not being named in the initial squad to play Hungary and Austria in friendly fixtures.

Even though the 22-year-old has earned his call-up, Clement will be concerned about his star full-back returning unscathed in time for the Scottish Premiership final.
It is surprising that he was left out at first, as Steven Thompson described a moment from him as “absolutely perfect” during Rangers’ Europa League loss to Benfica.

Celtic took advantage of the postponement of Rangers’ match against Dundee FC on Sunday, March 17, due to a flooded pitch, and they overtook their Old Firm opponents at the top of the standings.
Although Clement does have Barisic at his disposal, Yilmaz has grown into a valuable member of the team and might be crucial to the Rangers’ hopes of winning their second league championship in the previous ten years in the season’s finale.

It is hoped that he will be well-prepared to face Hibernian when he returns to Scotland.
