Reported £4.5m star’s change of heart sends Ibrox transfer message

Mohamed Diomande Ghana change of heart sends Rangers summer transfer message

Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande has been called up to the Ghana national team as the Ibrox club send prospective new signings an international message.

The Gers have been a solid platform for a number of West African debutants in recent seasons with Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey both making their Nigeria breakthrough with the Bears. And with a £4.5 million summer investment and January signing on the next days, Mohamed Diomande will be joining them by making his debut on the national team.

Ghana summons Mohamed Diomande
Despite Dio’s impressive start at Ibrox after joining from FC Nordsjaelland, nobody will be shocked to see the 23-year-old called up for international action.
Given that Mohamed Diomande hails from the Ivory Coast and was called up to the U23s for the forthcoming break, they could be taken aback to see the midfielder called up for Ghana.

Otto Addo, the manager of Ghana, seems to have persuaded Mohamed Diomande, who played his early football career in Ghana at the Right to Dream Academy, to change his allegiances.
The AFCON champions might always regret it, especially in light of the midfielder’s taunts at his fellow Gers player Leon Balogun following the Ivorian hosts’ victory against Nigeria to win this year’s championship.

More to emulate the Rangers midfielder’s example?
To be sure, Rangers made a few headlines in European football when they signed Mohamed Diomande in January.
Some of Europe’s top leagues were interested in Diomande because the Danish midfielder had developed into an all-action captain.
But this is a move that Rangers hopes will pay them handsomely in the upcoming seasons, as they look to make this deal truly set the tone for the Nils Koppen-led Ibrox transfer era.

Mohamed Diomande is a huge talent who exudes class, temperament, athleticism, and a sharp eye for a long-range shot. The signals at Rangers are getting better for aspiring stars trying to make the move to the proper team.
Major pluses include European football, large audiences, the possibility of winning silverware, the history of playing at Ibrox, and worldwide exposure.
