Joe Hart tipped to send strong message to Celtic teammates after what he did in St Johnstone win

Following their victory over St Johnstone this afternoon, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic team reclaimed the top spot in the Scottish Premiership.

And because today’s Rangers match against Dundee was postponed, they will stay there for the length of the international break.
What will excite the Hoops fan base today, though, is how Celtic won. Some really good performances were given by people like Tomoki Iwata and Nicolas Kuhn.

Following his score the previous weekend, Kyogo Furuhashi also appeared back to his best. The Japanese striker looked extremely threatening and had two goals disallowed by the woodwork.

Peter Grant, though, was led to assume that the veteran goalkeeper would have had a heated conversation with his Celtic teammates in the dressing room at full time because of what the furious Joe Hart did at St Johnstone’s goal.

Hart was furious with his backline for failing to clear two St Johnstone crosses, and he didn’t hold back in telling his players as much. Grant added that the goalie was right to respond as he did.

“He was quite right, because we should stop the cross,” Grant remarked. I believe that the crucifixion was too readily accepted. However, giving in and feeling the need to resist giving in is a little slack.

“Because it’s so close right now, that [goal difference] could decide the outcome.”Joe’s dissatisfaction is evident, and his experience confirms this. These could be significant times.

And to play so well and give up when their skills didn’t really warrant it—those are the kinds of situations you just can’t give up on.

It is highly unusual for Joe to not have to make a save throughout a game, as far as I can recall.

But his attitude has been excellent. We can only hope that he will be disappointed when he enters the dressing room and tells the boys, “Listen, we gave up a silly goal.”And for good reason—these guys play at the top for a very long time.

Hart’s response is the reason Celtics supporters adore him. He is a natural winner, and his standards held steady even when Celtic was winning.
The chance to record three straight clean sheets would have been on his mind, therefore the Hoops goalkeeper was particularly irritated by his easy surrender of that opportunity.

If only I could have been a fly on the wall at full time, I would have loved to hear what Hart had to say to his supporters.
