Che Adams, a striker for Southampton, spoke with the media team this week and discussed his nearly five-year tenure with the team.

Che Adams has had a successful season for the Saints, contributing five assists and 12 goals in all competitions.

Although there was interest in the 27-year-old last summer and in January, he is still a Southampton player.

Adams can leave the team at the end of June because his contract is set to expire at the completion of the current campaign.

In a conversation with the media during what might be his final few games wearing a Saints shirt, the Scotland international hinted to his future.

Che Adams hints about a future at Southampton

Adams joined Southampton in 2019 after being acquired from Birmingham City for an estimated £15 million. Since then, he has been an integral part of the team.

Nearly 200 appearances for the South Coasters have been made by the commanding center-forward, many of which have been in the Premier League.

However, his contract is set to expire in the upcoming months, so it looks like his time at St Mary’s is almost up.

“When your kid is born there and you’ve had most of your life and your football down there, it’s always special, and Southampton will always play a part in our lives, especially my daughter’s life,” Adams said in a Tuesday interview with the Southampton website, reflecting on his time at the club.

“A Premier League team is a group like Southampton. Every squad that has visited this season has seen how well-established and large the club is in terms of both its fan base and personnel.

“It’s a Premier League club, but in my opinion—as I stated in a statement at the end of the previous season—it’s simply about returning the team to its rightful place because that’s where we should be.”

Is Che Adams going to sign a new deal with Southampton?
According to Daily Echo journalist Alfie House, Southampton offered Adams a new three-year contract last summer that includes a vice-captain position.

It was said at the time of the story that the Leicester-born forward still had the option to sign, and it would seem that this is still the case a few months later.

Martin’s team depends heavily on Adams, and the team will do all in its power to hold onto their lucky striker well into the summer.

Maybe a lot depends on the division they end up in.
