Ben out, Osea in | Rugby house to appoint director of 7s rugby soon

Ben Gollings was fired on Thursday night by the Fiji Rugby Union due to poor performance, and Osea Kolinisau has taken over as the new head coach of the Fiji 7s.

Gollings was fired after the Fiji 7s team lost all 19 HSBC SNVS Series matches without taking home a championship.

A new coaching staff will support Kolinisau, a former Fiji 7s captain and gold medallist from the 2016 Olympics; Viliame Satala will continue to serve as assistant coach.

A director of 7s rugby will shortly be appointed by Rugby House, and past coaches Ben Ryan, Gareth Baber, and Waisale Serevi have all expressed interest.

Nacanieli Cawanibuka’s experience will serve as a consultant for Ian Gibbons, who has been named the strength and conditioning coach.
