The Dons’ draw spot was secured with goals from Stuart Findlay, Graeme Shinney, and Jamie McGrath; nevertheless, Warnock’s resignation has taken away their spotlight. The 75-year-old’s appointment was always intended to be temporary, at least until the Aberdeen administration identified Barry Robson’s long-term replacement.
But Warnock didn’t win a league game during his brief 32-day rule. Following three straight losses in the Premiership, Aberdeen dropped to 10th place after losing 2-1 at St. Mirren last weekend.
As the Dons fight to avoid relegation, chairman Dave Cormack disclosed that the next managerial appointment is at a “advanced stage.” Warnock expressed his disappointment over the league standings in an emotional statement to the club’s supporters, calling it a “honor” to represent them.
He declared, “It was an honor to lead Aberdeen for a few time in order to assist Dave and the board in putting themselves in a position where they could move closer to appointing a permanent replacement. “It goes without saying that while I was happy to have led the team to the Scottish Cup semi-final, I also wished I could have garnered a few more league victories along the way.

“Hopefully, they can now proceed and raise the trophy. I can’t express how grateful Ronnie (Jepson) and I are to the fans for their support during our time here, and we hope the club and its supporters have the best possible season finale and future.
