With Liel Abada’s departure, Celtic has made it their main priority to find a new wide winger, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old’s departure will need to be filled as soon as possible by the Glasgow giants during the summer transfer window.
On Thursday, March 7, Football Insider disclosed that Abada had finished his medical evaluation at MLS team Charlotte FC in preparation for a transfer

On Friday, March 8, the agreement was formally announced. Celtic will get a maximum of £10 million from the transaction, having only paid £3.5 million for his signing in the summer of 2021.

Abada’s major personal concerns over the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict caused him to become uneasy at the Glasgow giants.

One month before the unrest in his native country intensified, in September of last year, the 22-year-old signed a new four-year contract with Celtic.
Despite the club’s warnings, the Green Brigade, the greatest fan base of Celtic, regularly flew Palestinian flags during games.
Over 112 games, Abada netted 29 goals and contributed 22 assists for Celtic. With his departure, Celtic will need to find a successor in the summer.
Although Yang Hyun-Jun and Daizen Maeda have been utilized out wide by Brendan Rodgers in recent games, the Hoops manager will want more players in the summer.
