Celtic And Rangers Keen To See Contract Change To Protect Talents

Celtic and Rangers are considering lowering the age for offering professional contracts to 14 to safeguard their young talents from clubs in England, as reported by the Press and Journal.

Scottish clubs cannot provide professional contracts to their young talents until they turn 16.

English clubs are encountering challenges in signing players under 18 from outside the United Kingdom due to European Union regulations.

 

 

There are reports suggesting that Rangers and Celtic are considering reducing the age for offering professional contracts to their young players to 14 to safeguard them from English clubs.

The Scottish giants have asked the Scottish FA to explore ways to prevent their top talents from transferring to clubs in England.

It’s yet to be determined if the Scottish FA will give the green light to Rangers and Celtic’s proposal to reduce the age for professional contracts in order to safeguard their top talents.
