Pat Bonner believes Celtic have a player who is ‘much better’ than Nicolas Kuhn

This season, Celtic’s transfer policy has been under intense scrutiny, and rightfully so, as I have stated previously on TBR and here.

Celtic has squandered an enormous sum of money not only this season but also during the last four transfer windows, and it appears that they had the opportunity to spend an additional £3 million in January.

That’s what Pat Bonner says. After being substituted against Motherwell on Sunday, the former Celtic legend has expressed questions about Nicolas Kuhn, saying the Hoops had a player “much better” than him.

“I don’t want to be too heavy on Nicolas Kuhn, but he’s been around for a while,” Bonner stated [Scottish Football Podcast]. They purchased him with cash. He makes a respectable living at the club.

However, I found that the contrast between him and Yang in the second half was quite striking.

Even [Hyunjun] Yang, whose abilities you occasionally doubt, is most likely far superior. Either you must beat the player or you must reach the byline. A ball needs to be in early. You need to take action.

“Playing in those places requires you to have a finished product, especially for Celtic.

Additionally, Maeda can appear at the back post two or three times thanks to crosses that are closer to the back post and across the six-yard box.

The Celtic renaissance of Hyunjun Yang

Is the South Korean player poised for a late comeback to Celtic for this championship run-in? Yang appears like he might be a big impact player for us—at least off the bench.

Yang has recently pleased Brendan Rodgers in training, and during his brief time on the Motherwell field, he performed admirably.

The 22-year-old demonstrated his offensive desire when he entered the game in the 61st minute, giving Celtic two excellent opportunities.

Yang got two shots on goal, an assist, an 89% passing accuracy, and a 100% success rate when dribbling the ball with just 32 touches. [Fotmob]

Very impressive in such a short amount of time. With eleven games left in the season, he might be crucial to our success, so hopefully we are now seeing the man that Celtic spent a cool £2 million on in the summer.
