Fiji thumps Japan to secure quarter-final spot

In the Vancouver 7s, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team defeated Japan 36–12 in their last pool match to guarantee a trip to the cup quarterfinals.Along with rookie winger Heleina Young, star player Reapi Uluinasau scored two tries, and Fiji’s other tries came from captain Ana Maria Naimasi and Raijieli Daveua.

At half, Fiji was ahead 19–7.

Today at 11:55 a.m., the women’s cup quarterfinals will start.

The World Series leaders Argentina will play the Fiji men’s team in their last group game today at 10:33 a.m.

At 2:22 p.m., the men’s cup quarterfinals will begin.
