Coventry City boss provides injury latest on Victor Torp ahead of Preston and Maidstone
|Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive as Mark Robins still waiting to find out the full extent of Victor Torp’s calf problem
Mark Robins is still waiting to hear the full extent of Coventry City midfielder Victor Torp’s injury as he prepares his Championship side for this weekend’s big league and cup double header at the CBS Arena.
The Sky Blues are stretched in midfield where they have already lost key man Ben Sheaf (hamstring) and the quality and energy of Jamie Allen (fractured cheekbone) for up to six weeks, and Torp’s absence for any length of time would be a significant further blow. The Dane suffered a calf issue in the first half at Stoke at the weekend, forcing him to withdraw from the match at half-time.
Asked for an update on the injury and whether the 24-year-old January signing is hoped to be available for the weekend schedule, which starts with play-off rivals Preston North End in the league on Friday night and is followed by non-league Maidstone United in the FA Cup on Monday evening, the City manager said: “I don’t know yet.
“He’s not been scanned yet so we will know more when he’s had that, so it’s just a case of having to wait and see over the next couple of days.”
