Former Ajax and Aston Villa winger offers to play for Celtic for free

Anwar El Ghazi, a former winger for Aston Villa and Ajax, has volunteered to play for Celtic for free. In response to the Green Brigade’s most recent demonstration of support for Palestine, the Dutch internationalist offered his assistance.

The 28-year-old and Mainz, who cancelled his contract due to his support of the Palestinian people, are locked in a nasty fight. He has now extended an offer to work with the Scottish Champions.

The club has not recruited well in the last several seasons. This has added to the unhappiness inside the team following Ange’s two successful seasons there. Nevertheless, the team has had trouble adding talent, and the results have suffered.

It is quite improbable that El Ghazi would be given consideration by the club. There are further challenges as a result of his disagreement with Mainz.

El Ghazi scored 26 goals and provided 16 assists in 119 games for Villa, while the winger scored 23 goals and 16 assists in 119 games with Ajax. Celtic has been deficient in attacking talent, and El Ghazi’s experience would have likely made the team stronger.
