Celts produce impressive display in derby draw

At Ibrox, celts put up a very impressive display; Elena Sadiku’s team was unfortunate not to win all three points. Ultimately, the score was 1-1, with the home team canceling out Tash Flint’s opening goal.

Ranger’s early strikes against the crossbar gave them the early advantage in the game.

But as the half progressed, the Celts gained momentum and created several of the game’s openings, including when Amy Gallacher forced Jenna Fife’s first save.

Having extended stretches of possession, it was evident how far the Celtic team has come in terms of pushing and possession in such a short amount of time.

Tash Flint nearly scored twice against Hibernian last weekend, missing the mark with a shot toward the end of the first half.

The attacker, though, didn’t have to wait long to score the first goal of the match—he did so in the first minute of the second half.

After some excellent, continuous play from Kit Loferski, Amy Gallacher did a fantastic job of working the ball down the right-hand side to find her strike partner.

And Flint didn’t make a mistake, giving the Ghirls a well-earned lead with a cool finish.

Flint nearly scored a second goal with a move inside the box ten minutes after netting the game’s first goal.

Shen Menglu’s deft ball found the striker, but under duress, she was unable to take advantage of the opportunity.

The following goal of the game may have been vital after Celtic took the lead, and it appeared to be going their way.

Unfortunately for the Hoops, though, with about 20 minutes remaining, the home team responded with a goal from replacement Mia McAulay, who scored with a shot inside the area after a quick counterattack.

As the two teams faced off in an attempt to determine a winner, the match’s final moments would prove to be incredibly fascinating.

Caitlin Hayes played outstanding last-ditch defense to keep the home team from scoring a late goal. Murphy Agnew then ran through with her own chance, but a great save kept the American out.

In the end, Elena Sadiku and her team will have a lot of reasons to celebrate as they continue to improve under the new head coach, but it was frustrating not to win all three points after yet another outstanding effort.
