Young Cawanibuka to feature for Gospel in FSSRL

Alifereti, the son of Nacanieli Cawanibuka, the coach of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Strength and Conditioning, is going to play in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League for the first time.

This year, a Gospel High School year 10 student will participate in rugby league for the first time.

Alifereti emphasises the chance to engage with friends from his school and others, making it a useful learning experience. He sees this as an opportunity to push beyond of his comfort zone.

“It’s a new experience for me; I never played rugby league as a child, so it just started this year, and I’m excited for the new challenges that lie ahead.”

Cawanibuka expresses gratitude to his father for supporting him in his decision to play rugby league.

Alifereti claims his mother is concerned that he might be harmed, nevertheless.

The 16-year-old highlights that, in spite of this worry, he has gotten important guidance from his father, who advises him to play strategically in order to reduce the possibility of injury.

In the meantime, Suva hosted the FSSRL competition today.

Tomorrow is the start of the competitions in Lawaqa Park, Ra High School, Ba Methodist High School, Nadovu Park in Lautoka, and St. Marcellin Primary School in Vatuwaqa.
