“Outstanding” A £15k-a-week Celtic player stunned Stephen Robinson on Sunday.

Although Brendan Rodgers’ team defeated Robinson’s team 2-0, the manager of The Buddies expressed his disappointment at losing the Scottish Cup but had high regard for Joe Hart, the goalie for Celtic.

“Celtic defensively, they don’t really get that kind of credit,” Robinson stated [PLZ Soccer]. They are regarded as one of the top football teams.

However, some of the blocks they made in the six-yard box were impressive, and Joe Hart did a great job managing corners and deliveries into the box that day, in my opinion.

And they should be given credit for it as well, you know. Sometimes the difference between winning and losing a football game is the two 18-yard boxes.

There was a genuine display of dignity and humility from Robinson. Hart delivered one of his greatest performances of the season against St. Mirren.

As I said yesterday, the £15k per week goalkeeper has been under fire for mistakes he made early in the season, but lately he has really shown his worth to the Celtic club.

He produced three outstanding saves against Hibs and another two and 10 ball recoveries versus Aberdeen. [Fotmob]

But previously in the season, at Ibrox, against the Rangers, Hart proved his genuine worth to the Celtics. Gustaf Lagerbielke and Liam Scales, an inexperienced center-back duo, were guided by his leadership and expertise through a difficult day at Ibrox, culminating in a 1-0 Celtic victory.

Rodgers must decide whether to part with the £1 million player and if he still has a future at Celtic as his contract is scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Joe Hart has had a 20-year career, but based on his recent performances, it seems like he still has a lot to give.
